Winning for the No 1 team were Ricki Slack (with breaks of 30 and 28), Colin Marchington and then Ricki and Andrew Brough took the deciding pairs leg on the pink at the end in a real thriller.
On target for the No 2 line-up were Martin Forster and Mick Bunting.

BOLEHILL No 1 BACK FROM THE BRINK IN PIPE OPENER WITH HARTINGTON RBL
![]() |
| IAN BIRKS and COLIN MARCHINGTON finished the night in style. |
Designed to blow away the cobwebs, the event had the desired effect as play gradually improved as the night progressed for the home team after some inevitable early rustiness.
Hartington started much the quicker, with Steve Hawkins (a member of both clubs) taking the first frame on the black, Gary Walker putting in an impressive display to make it 2-0 and then John Turner adding the third frame shortly afterwards.
However, Ian Birks stopped the rot in the fourth and then he and Ricki Slack further reduced the arrears in the first of the pairs frames to make it 3-2.
Ian then partnered Colin Marchington to enjoy his third success of the night, with the latter scoring the nights highest break of 27, to level things up.
The overall aggregate margin was 13pts in favour of Bolehill after at one stage being 76pts adrift after the opening three frames.

SEAN TAKES DELAYED BILLIARDS TITLE, PLUS 2 TEAMS AGAIN THIS SEASON
![]() |
| THE trip down from Reapsmoor resulted in a success for Sean O'Sullivan. |
Entries are now being taken for this years billiards competition too which is likely to be run prior to Christmas and hopefully to its conclusion this time around!
Meanwhile, the Institute is set to run two teams again in the Darley Dale and District Snooker League with the No 1 team captained by Ricki Slack remaining largely the same and Mick Bunting's No 2 team just finalising the places for a couple of players as we speak hopefully though the majority of last season's team will be taking part again.

TEAM SELECTION MEETING NEW DATE
THE TEAM SELECTION MEETING for the 2013/14 Darley Dale & District Snooker & Billiards League season will provisionally now be held on TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th @ 7.30pm (sorry for the late date amendment due to some committee members being unavailable on the original date).
All interested players with up to date membership are encouraged to attend.
The No 1 team finished runners up in A Division last season and also won the Captains Cup which were the same two excellent achievements replicated from the previous season, while the No 2 team were gallant runners up in the latter event.
